Tooling – Start Right
A finished part is only as good as the tool that made it. Sound familiar? Depending on the part’s intended application, tooling parameters vary. Is the intended part for commercial use or to perform a critical function? With over 55 years manufacturing tooling in-house, we can help set and meet those criteria. Projects don’t have to begin with Research Tool & Die Works producing the tooling.
Tooling is produced using only certified material heat treated to exacting specifications. RT&D manufactures tooling using a variety of CNC Mills, Lathes and certified measuring instruments.
The last part of tooling is to maintain its quality and ability to produce consistent quality parts. We properly match tooling to production machinery, to avoid accelerated wear and tear or abuse. Our goal is to keep production downtime and maintenance to a minimum.

Manufacturing metal stamped parts is at the core of our company’s capabilities. Here at Research Tool and Die, our manufacturing capabilities start with our equipment. We house stamping presses from 60 tons to 330 tons, able to stamp parts 6 feet long. Utilizing manufacturing methods refined over our 58 year history and an internal quality management system, we are one of the most efficient metal stamping manufacturing facilities in the nation.
Behind the scenes are all the functions and processes necessary for successful manufacturing, which you should not worry about, nor want to. That’s the idea. RT&D will provide reliable equipment, procurement efficiency, quality control at every step and post stamped processes not found at other companies. Some other in-house manufacturing capabilities include in process thread tapping and component welding.
